Houston Hospital for Specialized Surgery became a part of Surgical Care Affiliates in July 2007.  In September 2007, an agreement was signed forming a joint venture with Baylor College of Medicine.  The hospital was originally constructed in 1994 and owned by a group of physicians.  In 2007 and 2008, the hospital underwent a complete remodel, bringing a more warm, patient friendly atmosphere.
